My name is Vanessa Underwood-Laughlin. I am a teacher by trade. I’ve been teaching since 2007. I currently teach at the same elementary school that I graduated from. My business name is a combination of a nickname that my mom gave me when she would oil my scalp and a brainstorming session with my sister Yolanda.

 

Thirsty Locs was born out of a need for me to find something that would help soothe and moisturize my scalp after not being able to find anything that really helped me. After various iterations of the formula/recipe, I’ve found something that truly works for me and began sharing it with family and friends.
